Arsenal Insurance Enters the International Green Card Motor Insurance Market
Starting January 1, 2026, Arsenal Insurance began selling international Green Card insurance policies for drivers taking their vehicles abroad.
The Green Card is a mandatory insurance policy for trips outside Ukraine. It works on the same principle as MTPL but applies abroad: if the driver is at fault in an accident, the policy covers damages to third parties, including damage to property and injuries to those affected.
Having a policy is a mandatory condition for crossing the border, and driving abroad without one risks steep fines.
As of January 1, 2026, the international Green Card agreement includes over 40 countries — all of Europe, plus some countries in North Africa and the Middle East. Payout limits depend on the country where the accident occurred.
Policies can be issued for various terms depending on trip length, letting drivers choose the option that fits their travel plans. Coverage is available not just for passenger cars, but also motorcycles, buses, trucks, and trailers.
Arsenal Insurance was able to start selling Green Card policies after becoming a full member of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) in 2025.
